Another week with minimal precipitation and the soil just keeps getting more dried out. The creek is stone cold dry with no trace of moisture anywhere. The pond has completely dried out again with no water visible anywhere. The leaves are continuing to turn color and drop to the ground. How much of this has to do with the approaching autumnal equinox and how much to the lack of any water could be debated but for sure the lack of water is accelerating the process. We have seen more deer out walking during the day. Nightly bird migrations are increasing with over 268,000 one night this week.
