Areas in my county received >5" rain in one day this week (2.85" at this station), and I just dumped another 0.63" this morning. Turtle Creek is running very high. Cedar River has spilled over its banks and is at moderate flood stage. Low-lying roads are barricaded in Austin due to flooding. Farmers are not pleased, as harvest is near. Ponding evident in many fields. Grass is lush. Lawn makes "squoooosh" sound when I walk on it -- very spongy and fully saturated. Rarely do I use the Severe categories on the scale bar, but this fits all the criteria on the spreadsheet for Severely Wet.
