State Forestry now is issuing fire-danger reports weekly on Wednesday, and the most recent rating is Low. Depth at nearby Mansfield Hollow Dam is in the normal range. Local summer fruit/vegetable season at local farm stands is winding down, with peach and corn seasons about ended, tomatoes still plentful, with fall lettuce now starting. Animal activity remains brisk, as does patronage of local businesses. Lawns and leaves now are still nearly all green, as summer flowers begin to fade.
