Streams 1-3 feet wide, either completely dry or puddles with no flow.
Streams 3-5 feet wide, very slight flow seen.
Streams >5 feet wide, some flow, in places you can walk across a stream ~30 feet wide on rocks.

Ponds < 1 ac. dry.
Ponds 1-3ac. no obvious water, full of cattails and aquatic vegetation.
Ponds > 3 ac. 2-4 feet below normal level and shrinking in size as vegetation increases.

The maples are beginning to change color as are some of the quaking aspen. Oaks are dropping their acorns. "Weeds"in the fields are now mostly brown. Wild apple trees are losing their fruit. Not a single low-bush blueberry to be seen. Golden rod is so dry that the honey bees aren't visiting it.

Our gang of American Wild Turkeys visit twice a day...the two young generations have gotten large. Finches of all kinds are gone. Chickadees and Nuthatches and a pair of Cardinals come by for seeds and WATER. Even the Downy and Hairy woodpeckers are eating seed and drinking. No signs of deer or moose or,thankfully, bears.

We are still collecting rain water whenever there's a passing shower. Water is for non-potable uses. We try not use our well water (130 feet deep into granite bedrock). Reports of household wellsgoing dry have slackened off.
