During the past week we continued to receive rain showers and drizzle almost every day. The soil is mildly wet overall and the grasses are as green as they typically are in the spring, very lush. Trees and bushes are showing some signs of fall coming with some minor color changes. Flowers and perennials are still vibrant but no new growth is visible. Birds are very active in search of food, especially tree nuts that are now ripening. This ripening period also sets up challenges with small mammals such as squirrels searching for the same food. Larger mammals have also been active with the abundance of plant food.
