It is wet!  With 4.32" of rain in the last 48 hours, there is standing water in the low spots of my yard and ditches are full.  There is also standing water in the nearby field.  It feels like it has rained nonstop for the last two days with some very heavy down pours.  It continues to rain as I make this report.  All To Dates are on the plus side with September at +4.44" of NOAA Norm.  Corn harvest has started for some farmers and beans continue to dry down, with most nearby fields having yellowed.  Area rivers are on the rise with flood watches in effect for both the Mississippi and Rock Rivers.  The Mississippi River is expected to hit near moderate flood stage of 15.9 ft by Tuesday in Rock Island, and the Rock River is expected to hit near major flood stage the same day at 13.9 ft.  Heavy rain is expected to continue today with rain finally coming to an end by Tuesday.   I had expected that the hummingbirds to have moved on, but nope, they are still here and still battling with each other for feeder time.  Fun to watch, even in the rain.
