In spite of the recent deluge of rain, conditions are moderately wet. The ground is saturated and there is puddling but absorption is occurring remarkable well and runoff is not accumulating to excess. This week has been relatively warm but raining progressively more each day with 1.71 inches accumulating over the week. 1.21 of this has fallen within the past 24 hours. Humidity values have also run very high all week, often at or near 100 percent until well after sunrise. The rain has inhibited recreation and has caused cancellation of youth sporting events on Saturday along with local outdoor farmers’ markets. Agricultural activity continues. More shrubs are showing fall colors and a few more leaves are on the ground. The rain continues to fall so conditions may worsen moving forward.
