Heat plus dryness is starting to take its toll on the grass, which is turning brown early.  I have noted several trees prematurely losing their leaves, and a neighbor's tree is devoid of leaves now.  Only ~0.52" of rain in September at my gauge, and that is one of the higher totals in the immediate area. We have had 2 record-setting electricity bills in the last two months due to the heat, so I'm not looking forward to another.
