We've had 1.31" rain over 9/15-9/16 24 hr period. Ground is still dark from that. We briefly had running water in overflow creek and into a small part of pond. It was no longer visible two hours later. We had a power outage during that night. Heard a very loud lightning strike during the thunderstorm. Not sure how long power was out but had to reset clocks the next morning. Corn harvest is in progress around surrounding farms. Some soybeans are browning and ready to harvest. Grass continues to grow well. Tomatoes are ripening slower and peppers are not growing at same rate they were. Tulip tree is dropping yellow and brown leaves that dot it. It is always earlier than other trees here to shed leaves. Rarely saw the lone deer out front this week. Goldfinches continue to pick on sunflowers. Saw a female praying mantis. Crows are very active at something around here.
Picture is back alfalfa field and corner of garden. We are doing well.
