Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: TX-WM-316
Station Name: Round Rock 0.3 NNW
Report Date: 9/19/2026
Submitted: 9/19/2026 6:37 AM
Scale Bar: Severely Dry
Description:
Here we go again -- 0.05" total since July 17 -- or 63 days with no useful moisture. And over 20 days over 100 degrees, and every day since in upper 90's. Energy bills are noticeably high; fire danger elevated; and burn bans and watering restrictions are universal here. The only saving grace is that lakes are unseasonably high. Roadsides are parched, and exposed ground is cracking (wonderful clay soil!) Most trees are losing leaves and show signs of stress. And the duration is starting to cause "cabin fever" as we stay inside during the day. While not (yet) the longest dry spell, it is certainly a concern and no immediate change is predicted.
