We haven't received any rain this week, so the soil has dried out after the heavy rain event we had at the end of last week.  I have had to water an area of my yard where I spread grass seed so that it continues to grow.  It has been super-hot again this week...highs in the upper 90's are too much for mid-September.  I see pumpkins and mums for sale at our local stores, but with the afternoon temperatures it doesn't feel like fall at all.  I see birds flitting around the yard, but other than that I am not seeing much wildlife.  Last week's rain caused the grass to grow so I will be mowing in the heat this weekend before more rain comes in.
