Conditions are mildly dry where I have lived; but just across the bridge into NKU (Northern Kentucky University it is moderately dry and had hit D0 -ABNORMALLY DRY - BEGINNING OF A DROUGHT today.  The HTTS MESONET station had only 0.87" of precipitation less 1 inch on the gauge for the past 30 days.  About 3/4 of Campbell County now is D0 - ABNORMALLY DRY - BEGINNING OF A DROUGHT.  There is only 0.1 CFS of stream flow at Dogsworth Creek for a 10 to 15 square mile watershed which indicates abnormally dry conditions.  The lawns are becoming brown for almost 3/4 of Campbell County.  Some of the trees are showing signs of drought stress in Cold Spring Kentucky and also at the Northern Kentucky University with wilting leaves.  There is also some leaf fall on some of those trees.  The lawns are patchy brown where I live which is on the other side of the Johns Hill I-275 bridge.  The lawns are so dry south of latitude 39.02 degrees North that there is now a slight fire hazard from cigarette butt litter.  This extremely hot weather for September is starting to cause flash drought conditions in 3/4 of Campbell County.
