The Town of Rockport has now imposed additional water restrictions as of September 18th: outdoor water use will be banned until further notice. Outdoor watering has been limited to alternate days, during early mornings & evenings, all summer. Rockport relies on local quarries for water storage, and is not connected to the Quabbin Reservoir.
In our yard, one dogwood tree has died, and a second is clearly stressed (dropping leaves). This is also happening to maple and birch trees. On some trees, leaves have simply dried up and turned brown.
