After 0.25 in of rain spread across 3 weeks it is starting to get dry.  The “drought log” half buried in the silt of the Sangamon River bed is just exposed, indicating that we may have difficulty canoeing over the sand bars.  Grass is generally green with some yellowing.  Trees suffering from pesticide drift look tired but still not greatly stressed by the drought.  If we don’t get rain they will need supplemental water.
