Back to watering the garden daily, but the crop is coming in of peppers (only). A neighbor has a bumper crop of eggplant and says that they did little during the height of the summer but now seem to be happy. The milkweed that we planted has our first hatch out of monarch caterpillars, and it looks like they will eat the plants down to stems, including the just developing seed pods. That garden has been watered daily for months. We're keeping a look out for lizards (anoles) that might want a caterpillar snack. The heat and humidity precludes all but essential outdoor activities.
