9/16/26 to 9/13/26: Turf was brown and ground hard underfoot prior to precipitation event on 9/10 after which turf color returned to near normal green. Total precipitation for the period was 0.95 inches. No runoff or surface puddling was noted during the rain event suggesting infiltration into the topsoil. Drain tiles 12 to 18 inches deep were not flowing. Manmade and sinkhole ponds have remained at approximately 85% to 90% of capacity further indicating limited runoff flowed into the ponds. River birch are shedding leaves at a reduced rate relative to last reporting period suggesting precipitation is being held by the top few inches of soil. Tensiometer readings at 18 inches deep in heavy clay soil ranged from 96 cb to 80 cb with the peak occurring just prior to the 9/10 rain event. Current tensiometer is 80 cb. ETo turf for the period was 0.67 inches resulting in a net precipitation surplus of 0.28 inches.
