Even though we had 3/4 of an inch of rain over the week, the ground is still moderately dry. The bogs along US 40 are moist, but no water is visible. Ponds and Lakes are 12-18 inches below the normal ponding level. Streams and Creeks are flowing low. All Corn crops are ready to be harvested or are in the process of being harvested. Corn fields are dry enough to support wildland fires; the rest of the vegetation is still too green to support fire.
