Rain and Heat Relief Received this week, with lower temps and 2 inches of rain this week.  Wireless Emergency Alert WEA received on phone at 8:50PM on 9/8/2026 for Tornado Warning. Outdoor sirens also went off.  No damages of significance at this location.  As a result, the monthly total is now 2.03.  Boil Advisory was issued for sections of Linn County, they are all now Cancelled.  AC, fans, and open windows all used.  Mowing was required.  Purple Crocus blooming again.  As well as lilies.  Acorns and drier smaller branches and twigs falling down daily.  Allergies on the increase due to pollen counts stayed high most of the week.  Increase in gnats and arachnids and their webs.  Bobcat has been spotted near station location a few times this week.  Overall Mood.  I witnessed normal outdoor activities etc.  I think most were happy and content with the break from the heat.  Looking ahead, temps might heat up just a bit with more rain chances.  Enjoy the beautiful diverse Iowa weather summer into fall!
