With about 17 days to go to the end of the 'water year', we are at 86% of normal, with 11.54" of rain. The land has long ago dried out and turned to the California golden brown landscape except for the Coast Live oaks that I have provided supplemental water during the hot dry summer. This summer was above average for nighttime temperatures so a cooldown at nigh was absent. The sea surface temperatures are slightly above average as well. I have provided seven watering stations around the property for the wild animals, and they have been well attended as I have had to refill some of them twice a day. We look forward to the winter rains!
