Only 0.17 inches of rain at my station after one Chicago tv station predicted 1.04 inches for my area! Grass is still green and lush and growing quickly. Zinnias respond to the shorter days and lower angle of the sun with fewer and smaller blossoms. Only had to water once this week. Hummingbirds active at the feeders and 7 wild turkeys wandered the front lawn this week. Two large plump monarch caterpillars on the milkweed - will they J into pupa to emerge as butterflies in time to migrate?
