Hard to know how to choose a condition on the scale.  Right now, everything is a bit dry (mild to moderate); but the surface waters tell a different story.  Years of mostly below average rainfall are taking their toll with lake levels down significantly and many ponds nearly dried up.  We are in a drier part of the state so missing 5" of precipitation in a year translates to being 20% below normal, and we've done this something like four of the past six years based on numbers from a nearby observer who's records pre-date mine.  In a county whose tourism industry is tied almost entirely to it's water, it's the surface water levels that are more concerning than the degree to which my lawn turns brown each season.
