We have been super dry all week up until a few days ago.  The ground was dry, dusty, and cracked in many places.  Some of my shrubs were wilting and I had to water the house plants.  We didn't have rain for 21 days then we received 2.75 in. from thunderstorms over slightly under a 24-hour time span.  The grass seed I put down last weekend was loving it and sprouted like crazy after the rain.  At least it isn't as hot now.  Not much wildlife, although my lab mix killed another young opossum and we had a new stray cat come through the neighborhood.  Hummingbirds are still enjoying their feeders.
