Drought conditions continue to intensify, with quite a few daily highs exceeding 100 degrees. Morning dew is rare so far this month. The ground is hard and extremely dry; dust is a significant issue to pasture and livestock (particularly for risk of dust pneumonia and pinkeye). Yards and pastures are brown and crunchy.  Bare spots between individual plants is increasing. Several farmers in the area are feeding hay or other supplements for a while now. Fire risk is very high. Ponds have dropped significantly this month; many are scummy, more are showing mud rings, and a few are now so low as to be good candidates for cleaning out. Our wet-weather branches haven't run since early Spring 2025.  Quite a few mature trees are dying throughout the woods with all leaves brown.  A few maple trees are beginning to show Fall color.
