The higher than normal temps have stressed the trees to the point that they are prematurely dropping leaves. Grass has gone into late summer slump. Ticked off 14 days without rain during this mostly 100 degree stretch. New grass seedlings and sod are failiing unless watered constantly to keep the soil cool. Corn harvest is in full swing now, yields are variable but all indicators point to lower yields than 5 year average. Sunflowers have done well. Water levels are still good. Fire risk crept up to moderate even with recent rainfall. Land work continues unabated.
