Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-LR-1272
Station Name: Estes Park 1.7 SW
Report Date: 9/7/2026
Submitted: 9/07/2026 9:59 PM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
Still very dry here. We just are not getting enough rainfall. River gauges are all well below average discharge for this time of year. Oddly burn restrictions have been lifted by Estes Valley Fire Protection District and are now at Stage 1. The national park is still enforcing Stage 2 burn restrictions as is unincorporated Larimer County. Grasses and forbs are doing their usual preparing for winter thing by setting seed and senescing vegetative growth. Hummingbirds have all but left the area. I think I saw two individuals this evening is all. The elk are starting to gather into larger groups and bull bugling is becoming more regular. Birds still visit the bird baths regularly.
