Last month, we were within a half inch of our normal average rainfall for August. For the past 16 days, rainfall at this location was minimal with the only and highest amount was 0.25 inches. The ground is hard with small cracks appearing as the ground is drying out. The Forsythia bush leaves indicate that there is a lack of ground water as the leaves are drooping.
The grasses are appearing thinner. Pulling weeds is harder with the clayish ground drying out.
The Hummingbirds appear to be using our feeders at an increasing rate. This is a qualitative observation.
