No significant rain for about one month. After a wet early summer, conditions have turned dry and hot. No rain at this location for about two weeks. Temperature hav exceeded 100 deg F for five of the last six days. I would term this a "flash drought". Soil is very dry. Grasses have become dormant and brown. Have noted a few brush fires in the region recently.
