Description:
General Awareness: This past week we received 0.18" of light rain. Temperatures have risen from +3 to 27 C; winds reached a high of 27 KM during a mostly cloudy week. River levels remain low.
Events: A wedding at the Harmattan Community Centre.
Energy: On a couple of chilly days we lit the wood heater.  
Fire: There is currently NO Fire Restriction or Fire Ban in effect in Mtn. view county.
Plants & Wildlife: 
Landscape: Some Holly hocks & sunflowers are 10' high. 
Lawn mowing: None this past week. 
Plants need water. This weekends light rain is beneficial.
Wildlife: No deer, bears or cougar in the yard or adjacent cemetery. A number of sightings have been reported to Mtn. View BearSmart. 
While out for a drive, we saw 3 moose and a mule deer in a field 2.5 miles from home.
At Camp Harmattan, located N of us, a worker saw 4 deer, a large flock of Robins and Flickers; 15-20 doves sitting on the powerline; some squirrels and 3 pocket gophers.
Birds at feeders and birdbaths: a robin; 2 chickadees; 2 young rose-breasted nuthatch; 2 blue jays; a flock of house sparrows.
Other birds nearby: mourning doves; hawks, crows; ravens, and geese flying over.
Insects: ants, honey bees, butterflies.
Society & Public Health: We're thankful for the showers but for farmers it disrupts harvesting of crops. 
Tourism & Recreation: A lot of people are out camping this long wknd.
