With a total observed precipitation of .94" in the past week, conditions at this station appear to be mildly dry. The soil surface is damp from high humidity and dew, holding together briefly when squeezed in the hand, it is dry when dug into with a shovel. Plants are still thriving with some browning and yellowing on leaf edges. Vegetables are bountiful and numerous, with zucchini thriving in the hot weather. Many flowers are still blooming, including nasturtium and sunflowers. Bees and Monarch butterflies are showing in modest numbers but we are happy to see them, nonetheless. Wildlife is visible during daylight hours searching for water but are still cautious.
