1.97" of rain this week, 6.45" in the last 30 days. All but 0.10" fell in heavy storms Thursday night and Friday morning. There is standing water in neighboring fields again, not as much as in previous weeks, but enough to discourage field work.  Lawn is green and needs mowing annoyingly often.  Vegetable garden is fading fast.  With the demise of the large pools of water in the fields, the geese and shore birds have left.  The turkeys and crows are still around but are showing little interest in the windfall apples.  The heavy storms knocked most of the apples off the trees and broke some branches.  Mosquitoes continue to be severe. Creeks and field drains continue to run at moderate levels.
