The good news is we didn't have to mow this week.  No rain in 17 days.  Last night thunderstorms slid by east, still no rain here.  90's for highs all week, 3 days at 99F, the warmest so far this year.  Creeks are shrinking puddles, seeps non-existent. Ponds dropping faster.  Appears that all tulip poplars are yellowing and many have leaves dropping.  Persimmons, catalpas, and sycamores showing color.  Lots of color in the woods, looks like fall is early this year.  Photo shows the differences in just 11 days. More hay down and baled, didn't see any harvestable hay still standing.  Plenty of brown corn looking ready to harvest, beans still ranging from green to brown.  Nighttime, fireflies are done.  Burn bans in effect for us and surrounding counties.  Just a couple does & fawns, and just one hen turkey.  While driving, we spotted an osprey stooping into a neighbor's pond but didn't see if he was successful.  Plenty of hummingbirds still.
