Week of (8/30/26-9/5/26) observed more precipitation compared to last week. The precipitation observed during this week was 2.62 inches of precipitation. The amount of precipitation measured was more than the last update of 0.26 inches of precipitation for the previous week of (8/23/26-8/29/26). There was 1.89 inches of precipitation so far that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of August compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 3.31 inches of precipitation. There was 2.62 inches of precipitation so far that was recorded at station NY-MR-89 for the month of September compared to the normal climatology precipitation at KROC airport for the month is 0.52 inches of precipitation. Conditions have gotten wetter since the last update from last week with the area seeing ample measurable precipitation in the form of liquid over this past week and the area is still remaining drought free. The area is currently considered near normal and conditions had slightly gotten drier than the last update and the ground has remained dried up with no standing water since the last update due to the area receiving more precipitation in the form of rain since there has been a lot of measurable rainfall last month in August and prior months and this had caused the area to receive an abundance of moisture the area had received in the past, but the grass is still green and vibrant in the back yard and in the front yard. The sump pump hasn’t been pumping at all during the entire week with the ground being dry despite all the precipitation the area had received over this past week. Outdoor activities have been poor this week with most of the days this week had had wet weather despite some dry time to salvage this week between precipitation falling to walk on local canal path and along with below average temperatures (Sunday-Monday) and streams water levels are still holding at low levels currently despite full levels Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon along with some seasonably cooler than normal air to near normal air in the environment (Sunday-Monday and Friday-Saturday). The air conditioner has been working below average for about half this week due to cooler than normal temperatures during most of the week with three days this week with above average temperatures (as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit above average for high and low temperatures during the week and as much as 10 degrees Fahrenheit below average for high and low temperatures during the week). The ground had become moist this week and the drainage area in the backyard has no standing water. The grass is still green and vibrant with all the moisture that had fallen over this past week along with full foliage on the trees. The front and backyards needed to be hand mowed once this week along with vegetation such as Dogwoods and trees in the backyard are doing good and no manual watering was needed for a potted plant and Boxwoods for most days this week and the grass is still growing very fast due to abundance of moisture the area received from the past. Thankfully my station did not receive any severe weather or any damage to property from this severe weather that had impacted several parts of the surrounding area Wednesday evening into Wednesday night, but the area received an abundance of moisture. So far, the total precipitation at this station for the month of September is currently above average.
