Conditions here are severely dry. We are still about 10 inches behind our "usual rain fall totals". This summer has been very hot with numerous heat advisories and water use restrictions. Some areas in the Piedmont to the north and south have received more rain, however the central Piedmont here has not. Jordan Lake water levels continue to decline and some small creeks are dry. Wildlife is very active. Some tree leaves are beginning to turn color attributed to the time of season and lack of rainfall. Most people are active outdoor in the morning and indoors in the afternoon.
