My backyard is very dry and dusty.  My dog loves to play with the Chuck-It tennis ball and he leaves a trail of dust as he runs through the yard.  Grass growth is non-existent now and some of it is browning.  It has been so hot and dry this week, and a shock to the system after having such a wet spring and summer.  It is less humid now which helps, but day after day of sunny, hot days has been its own kind of misery.  At least my clothes are drying on the line now.  For the most part there hasn't been any wind either, but every now and then we get an afternoon breeze.  Several of my annuals have perished in the heat and sun.  I was hoping to overwinter them, but I won't have as many this year.  I don't see any wildlife moving around in the heat either.
