Area corn is turning yellow. Some soybean pods can be seen from road but still green. Creek through town and in outside area are still running. Our overflow pond is dry. Shovel of soil in back yard and beside back alfalfa field show darkening line around 1 1/2-2" down. We haven't had rain in two weeks. Plants break off when I weed instead of coming with roots. Saw fox and two kits in front alfalfa one day. Lone young deer seen most evenings. Swarms of mostly dragonflies and some birds continue to been seen late afternoons over our fields. Crows are very noisy these days. Off-On power outage 9/2 at 8:21pm. An hour earlier the sky filled with a lot of dark clouds but it went east and no rain here. Plants still look healthy.
