Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NC-CH-68
Station Name: Fearrington 1.4 SW
Report Date: 8/31/2026
Submitted: 8/31/2026 10:31 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
The rain we received this week has not had a lasting impact. The streambed is absolutely dry. The water level in the pond never got up to the spillway and is now seveal feet below the spillway with no water headed downstream. A work crew dug a trench for some new lighting across several properties this past week. The trench was one foot deep and the dirt brought up was completely dried out along the entire trenchline. Flowers are flourishing largely because we are still permitted to water our gardens. We are seeing increasing yellow leaves particularly on poplars and other softwoods. We've had more rabbit sightings this week than deer sightings which is a bit unusual. We remain under Stage 2 water restrictions.
