With a total of.29" observed precipitation in the past week, conditions at this station appear to be mildly dry. Humidity has provided dewy mornings that keep plants going, but there are a lot of yellowed and browned leaves. Supplemental watering has been necessary for some vegetables and ornamentals, and wildlife has been more visible in their search for water. Monarchs are passing through on their migratory path but in much smaller numbers than in the past. Bees have also been more visible in the past week, working toward the harvest season. It would be great to have more rain, even the short, intense storms like earlier this summer. As the growing season now lasts through October at this location, the plants will need more to continue producing.
