Nine days with no rain; only 1.25” for August with no rain in the near term forecast. Rain-fed creeks just a series of puddles. Ponds dropping. Yard is dry & dusty. Lots of browning corn. Some beans to brown already, more hay down. Persimmons falling, tulip poplars & dogwoods changing color. We saw does and fawns this week but no turkeys. Adult males in the HAF may have moved on. We are seeing females and juveniles but no ruby-throats. Lots of bees and butterflies enjoying the wildflowers.
