Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MA-BA-57
Station Name: Falmouth 5.7 N
Report Date: 8/30/2026
Submitted: 8/30/2026 7:07 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
0.17” in the preceding week; August now stands at a grand total of 0.78” against PRISM average of 3.66”. Year-to-date we’re still more than 2” to the good of YTD average, but August has been remarkably dry and must admit I was hoping for a wet end of the water year; we’ve still got ‘24-‘25’s deficit to overcome, and the main local reservoir isn’t recharging as it has in the past, although the level on this pond is pretty much where it should be. Despite all this, there’s been minimal lawn browning so far. Seasonal color change continues. In the garden, many plants are starting to declare themselves done, although eggplant and pepper plants continue to positively thrive and tomatoes are still producing. Wildlife is active; the buck mentioned last week showed up later in my yard – he’s a gorgeous 8 pointer. Haven’t seen him since.
