For the month of August 1.? inch of rain was reported in the San Antonio area. This is 1. inch less than the August historical average of 2.15 inches. Rain gauge total was 1.11 inch. The historical August aquifer average is 657.6 feet. Stage 3 Year Round watering restrictions were changed to Stage 2 early in the month. The region is still recovering from a five year drought. Wildfire threat was moderately to severely high with fires reported. Average low and high temperatures were 76 and 93 degrees, with low and high temperatures recorded at 72 and 97 degrees, respectively. Energy costs were higher due to extended hotter temperatures.
