Well after our wet spell over the first few weeks of August, the expected dry weather returned as only a trace of rain was recorded this week.  The soil dried out pretty fast with mostly low humidity and sunny days, returning the soil to a mildly dry condition.  Waterways have cleared up and dropped to their normal levels.  Trees do look good and area lawns are green and still growing pretty fast.  At one point so fast I was beginning to wonder if all the excess CO2 in our air was having an effect.  Haven't seen too much wildlife prepping for Autumn yet but I did see a large and unfortunate turtle that failed in its effort to cross our busy road.  For me it's always a sad sight to see.  While I had no interest in feasting on it numerous and obviously hungry crows had other plans and were busy trying to snatch morsels between the passing cars.  It was quite the busy and raucous gathering.
