Conditions here are heading back toward severely dry. We are still well behind the NOAA averages for our water year and region. Central NC overall has received rain that has eased the dryness somewhat. It has been a hot humid summer although most plants seem to be OK. A few leaves are starting to turn, but some trees are showing noticeable heat stress. People are out and about doing their errands and work in the mornings. The Haw River is at a low flow level and Jordon Lake water levels appear to be slowly declining.
