For week of 23 - 29 Aug: (6.0+ 11.5+ 11.5+ 0+ 0+ 6.6+ T)=35.6mm, Near Normal. High's: +22C Hx +29C to +28C Hx +34C; Low's: +22C Hx +30C to +13C; Wind: CALM all week; Dew: dew all but 1 AM, much high fog. This week--warm and muggy! The precip was spread through the week. A few brief heavy downpours. No actual thunder storms. Humidex (Hx) has been in low 30's all week. Trees, plants, shrubs and grass are doing well. After previous heat wave, we needed the rain. Its just been so muggy. The Hx never seems to break. Marshes and streams are at about normal levels. The deer are back to relaxing in our back lot. They often come to rest, an hour at a time. No threat to them here. Spotted a few new fawns, very close to their moms. Have not seen the Porcupine or any rabbits. The odd time, we hear a pheasant. The foxes must be busy, out of sight. At least there is now creek water to drink. People-wise, its busy. Families prepping for start of school year. Yellow buses appearing in parking lots. Summer holidays soon to end. Tourism buses very busy, keep on comin'. Overhead NS Power work on Peggy's Cove Rd making excellent progress. Never seen so many boom/bucket trucks working on one road, at the same time. 2-3 per location. Big work. Our Burn Ban map transitioned from mostly Green on Tue, to mostly Yellow today. Dang that Hx!
