About 40 days since last decent rain. None in August. Temperatures over 100 every day this month. Sunday the 23rd, my temperature was 110. We water our pots and beds daily. We water the yard only weekly and that does little to help the grass. Some trees have yellow leaves and some dead leaves on branches. Our electric bill is climbing, but as long as I have electricity I will pay it. There is some danger of fire around the county especially roadsides. The heat can also be deadly to those who work outside. Birds and wildlife are mostly okay as far as I see in my backyard. We have feeders and water pans out. Area lakes continue falling. All are just at full to as low as 6.5 feet at Bridgeport Lake NW of Fort Worth.
