We only got .17" this past week from a round of mostly dry spotty thunderstorms. Very hot and smokey the whole time. Streamflows low, unwatered grass went brown long ago. Ninebark in the woods has fall colors and some have already lost their leaves due to drought. Streams are very low. Bitterroot NF says moderate fire danger and lifted campfire bans, but surrounding forests still have them and are call fire danger very high. It's just as dry here. BNF is always fishing for a fire--it's all about money...Forecast is for more of the same, no chance of a change. What an exhausting miserable summer.
