8/16/26-8/23/26: Conditions are near normal to mildly dry. Turf is firm, but gives slightly underfoot without releasing water. No puddles noted in low or sheltered areas. Drain tiles 12 to 18 inches deep are not flowing. Manmade and sinkhole ponds are at approximately 90% of capacity. Total ETo turf for period was 0.43 inches. Total precipitation for the period was 1.82 inches resulting in a surplus of 1.39 inches. Tensiometer at 18 inch depth in heavy clay soil ranged from 93 cb at the start of the period falling to 90 cb at the last day of the period. River birch continue to drop leaves, however, at a much lower rate than observed in the week prior to this period.
