Still hanging with Mildy Dry, only bc it is always conditionally dry in August. The only 'precip' all month has been high humidities in the mornings due to coastal marine flow (a.k.a. fog,) which is 'normal. HOWEVER< CA-DN-1's portal tells the bigger climatology story: YTD -13.8 (67% of Normal, WYTD -14.65 (79%). Could be worse i suppose. 
Our new dipstick measurement of ground water is working great:  ground water has dropped almost 20" since July 1, averaging a roughly 3"/week drop. Yonkers Creek still visibly flowing
Plants: even the daisies are looking old; grasses, plantains in full brown mode, some heal-all still blooming in shaded spots. Redwoods continuting the slide with increasing inside browinging, more yellow on maples, sweetgums starting to yellow up;
Critters: Bears roaming, blackberries still not quite fully ripe; not seeing many honeybees this year, or bumbles on the blackberries.  Termites starting to hatch/fly
*VERY* lucky so far with fires, no big lightning events.  The major Smith River Complex that put us without power for 4+ days was 3 years ago last week, starting with 30 fires on 8/15/23 until they morphed into 12, then 6 for the Complex name. Not out of the woods by a long shot
