Description:
A good week for monsoon rainfall. Four different days with measurable rainfall for a total of 1.74 inches for the week. Temperatures remained hot with highs in the upper 80's to low 90's, though much cooler temperatures during thunderstorms. The high of the week was 92° on Wednesday. Lows were in the 50's and low 60's. The low of the week was 52° last Sunday. Some gusty winds with the storms but otherwise, no strong winds. Things have really "greened up" with the wetting rains and the surrounding wildland/open areas look very lush. Harvesting a lot of zucchini and yellow squash and the corn is close to picking. A monarch butterfly was observed in the garden one day. Small birds like finches and sparrows are in the bird bath daily. Smelled signs of a skunk a few times but haven't seen a skunk in months but that's okay.
