Weekly precipitation was 0.21 inches. Our 28 day lack of measurable precipitation ended yesterday with a brief thunderstorm in the late evening. Very dry and hot over the past week with 100 to 103 degrees reached everyday except one (98 Friday). Grass parched and leaves falling due to dry conditions. Cracks forming in the heavy clay soils too. For us (and most area farmers) harvest is underway and continued dryness would be welcome for awhile.
