The August total so far of exactly 5.00" exceeds the whole month 30-year average of 4.69 and has broken the long streak of 13 consecutive months with deficient precipitation. These recent copious rains have revived much vegetation and helped surface moisture. However, deep moisture has much to go to be recharged.
