Precipitation running 365-day total of 36.78" increased substantially from 33.64 a week ago as about 1/10 of it (3.65") came during the last seven days from four distinct thunderstorm events, but is still much under the 1991-2020 30-year average of 52.79". The August total so far of exactly 5.00" exceeds the whole month 30-year average of 4.69 and has broken the long streak of 13 consecutive months with deficient precipitation. These recent copious rains have revived much vegetation and helped surface moisture. However, deep moisture has much to go to be recharged.
